For the original project, Saucerdrum created sounds by putting a mic inside a refrigerator and recorded slamming the fridge door, opening & closing the dishwasher, running water in the kitchen sink, and hitting large metal bowls to create gong sounds. He then stretched, pitched, and played with the sounds.
Then he asked some producer friends if they wanted to take 7 or so super spacey industrial weird alien suspenseful pieces of sound design and remix them into songs.
This compilation opens with Saucerdrum's remix of his own original soundscape.
"Chain Gang" is Spiderhound's hard hitting exploration of systemic racism specifically focusing on the topic of Chain Gangs. Chain Gangs were a way of perpetuating African-American servitude after the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution ended slavery outside of the context of punishment for a crime.
Next you'll hear the groovy psychedelic tech tribal womp from up-and-coming maestro, Sun Opener.
Bringin' it to a close with Beatfreaque's mid-tempo tribal break that gives some mellow-deep feels at the end.
